battery is one of two things. one is that it drains slowly while sitting; quick solution is to disconnect a battery lead if you're going to leave it parked for a while. a pain, but better than sharing cars. two is that the alternator has died and is no longer charging the battery. suspect this if you DO drive the car a lot, you DON'T leave it sitting for a long time, and it still goes dead after a while. if it's the charging system, check all of your fuses just to make sure they're ok, and also check to see if the alternator is frozen up or just not working. if it's frozen, you MUST replace it before it takes other stuff out with it. alternators are usually less than $50 at a junkyard. also, you can get a "battery tender" at the battery store for about $40, and connecting that overnight should solve all problems temporarily.

I had a bad alternator about a month ago. it was weird, because the battery light came on - seemingly signaling a bad battery. But we took the battery in to get tested, and it was fine. So, it had to be the alternator. It was more expensive than I would've liked... Hang in there. You're awesome!
