My Chest Feels Like a Train Wreck

Aside from being sick and feeling like a freight train ran over my chest, the past few days have been rather good. Justin played hooky from work on Tuesday to hang out with me in my sickiness, which was nice. I offered libations to the gods and gifts to the "presence" in the woods across from my apartment, and smudged my apartment with sage and sweetgrass. We found a burrito joint, Moe's, that paled in comparision to Qdoba (why does everything in the South have to equal bland????) but it is still the closest we have come to Qdoba-goodness. For those who are like "Ewwwh, Qdoba isn't REAL Mexican food!" NO SHIT. But to me, it is the best-tasting imitation Mexican food around. :)

Yesterday, work wasn't too bad- I was even feeling better toward the end of the day. Then, I had to hear that when asked about my potential of moving up into management at the library, A (one of my co-workers) told D, "I won't say what I really think about it- she's your friend." Just the type of statement that makes my skin crawl and my eye-balls want to roll out of my head. Still, I am really tempted to feel that, as Star says, A's opinion of me really isn't my business. And, above all else, I am a Queen of Evil in training. I need to get used to negative press if I am ever going to truly move up from Princess of Darkness.

If I survive today at work, I get to have Thai food for dinner- help keep me alive, people.
